Types of Ransomware

A computer may be attacked with many varieties of viruses if the user avoids being careful. Ransomware is also a form of a virus. This virus requires a ransom price to be paid. It can either stop the consumer from being able to use his/her documents or completely prevent the running of the machine. Ransomware is of several kinds and may enter the device in many ways.

Types of Ransomware

There are two main kinds of ransomware.

  • Crypto Ransomware

Crypto ransomware is the kind of virus that prevents the user from gaining access to his/her files.

There are many kinds of crypto-ransomware as well, some of which are explained below.

  • CryptoLocker

CryptoLocker uses strong encryption algorithms to function, which makes it very harmful. The files which are infected with this kind of virus are usually difficult to bring back without paying the ransom price.

  • CryptoWall

CryptoWall is supplied to the system via emails with ZIP attachments where the virus is hidden as PDF files. When victims open the harmful PDF files, they infect the computer with the CryptoWall virus and install malware files.

  • Torrent Locker

TorrentLocker is a kind of crypto-ransomware which is also supplied with the help of infected emails or emails that claim that the victim has to pay for an invoice, a package in the mail, a speeding ticket fine, etc. The creators of TorrentLocker malware mainly target specific countries with these infected emails rather than just anywhere around the world.

  • Locker Ransomware

Locker ransomware is the kind of virus that stops the victim’s computer or system completely from working.

  • Reveton

Reveton is a ransomware application that fraudulently says to be from a legitimate authority. To gain access, the user has to pay a ransom price, or else his/her data will never be available to him/her again.

How to Remove Ransomware

There are many approaches to deal with ransomware.

The first is by downloading an anti-virus software program that allows the user in putting off the virus. This software is designed to scan the computer and discover any contamination that is present. The software also facilitates in removing the infection from the computer.

To take away screen-locking ransomware, a repair of the complete machine may end up vital for ransomware removal.

There are many software available today which assist in putting off and warding off ransomware. This software assists running a full experiment letting you know whether or not your gadget is infected or not. If any virus is found, it facilitates in putting it off.

Ransomware enters the system usually without letting the victim know about the virus. Ransomware removal is not easy, but very necessary.
