Ransomware Removal Tools that Ensure You Keep Your System after an Attack

January 24, 2018Simeon Georgiev

Ransomware is one of the fastest growing cybersecurity threats in recent times with the estimated losses from 2017 standing at a staggering $5 billion and big names like Reckitt Benckiser, FedEx, and the Danish logistics giant Maersk reporting huge losses and system overhauls. The rise of cryptocurrencies, amongst other factors, has incentivized the growth of these malwares making the activity a lucrative procedure to perform.

The intricacies of ransomware removal

The complexity of ransomware removal once the attacker has encrypted your files and demanded a ransom payment can defend on a variety of factors. It might not even be an issue if you have no substantial data that is worth paying a hefty amount for or if you have a good clean backup stored on a secondary source that you can use to restore your system. However, if you lack either, especially a retrievable backup, ransomware removal and system recovery can become quite a challenge.

Not many programs offer effective file decryption

Unfortunately, once your files are encrypted by a ransom malware, recovering them on the same system can be an arduous and sometimes impossible task despite claims that it can be done. The programs that offer file decryption are not only rare but also specific to certain types of attacks and the fact that the provider is able to retrieve the decryption key that is created by the attacker with help from local law enforcement agencies. This obviously is an operation not everyone can indulge in.

Efficient ransomware removal tools for clean-ups

Although it is recommended that you erect as many preventive barriers for ransomware as possible, these measures are not completely foolproof. Once you’ve suffered an attack there are numerous ways in which you can execute ransomware removal and hire a professionals to help you along the way.
