Ransomware removal techniques – Here are the basics

March 8, 2018Simeon Georgiev

Ransomware removal is important for users who find themselves in a position where they’ve become a victim of the widely used antics by hackers online to affect the PC’s of other users with malicious software. Said malicious software can lock their machines, restrict access to important folders, and steal data or all of the above. It has also been noted that they lock your screen and the operating system. This is meant as an intimidation tactic, in order to get a user who needs access back to give up the cash in return for unlocking their device. The whole scenario is a hostage situation where the hostage is your PC. However, there are easy ways to remove ransomware from your PCs. They’ve been around for about 20-30 years. The good news is that in that same time span, effective ransomware removal tools have likewise been developed that can help your eradicate these pesky little viruses. Due to the recent boom in cryptocurrency, ransomwares now are designed to infiltrate your PC in order to carry out bogus transactions and affect your e-wallets.

However, even in this day and age, there’s a ransomware removal guide for all sorts of problems. Some of these are:

Encryption ransomware:

There are two primary kinds of ransomware. The first is a screen-locking ransomware which will show a bogus and fake warning issued by the police or the FBI in order to get you to pay the amount they demand. The other kind is the encryption-based ransomware. It can either lock or delete files on your computer in order to pressurize you into paying the amount they demand.

Screen locking Ransomware:

The screen locking ransomware can spread across your devices, so the best thing to do is to disconnect all your external devices such as webcams, external hard drives and the Internet as well. It is important to remove ransomware of this kind as it can spread to other devices as well.
