The increase in cyber-crimes has only made people work harder towards reducing these crimes.
Here are some efforts made to eliminate or reduce cybercrimes:
Surf Wisely:
We all know that prevention is better than cure, so you should surf the internet wisely. Beware of websites that ask you for your info. Don’t ever fall in the trap of getting free stuff online and registering yourself with your info. Free things in the form of free anti-virus etc. are more harmful than you think.
Educate yourself:
Remember, the criminals behind any cybercrimes are masterminds. They learn from nowhere, but the internet source. You too need to learn and educate yourself on the types of scams out there and then inform others about them as well to be safe for sure.
‘Know’ about your clicks:
When you are surfing the web, you will come across many luring ads according to your taste sometimes and one click on them will change your life for the worse. You should know when and what you are clicking on. Be wise enough to detect the problem before it even reaches on your computer.
Keep your system updated:
No matter what website or source you turn to to find out the preventions and cures as well as methods to reduce cybercrimes, they will all have one thing in common always – asking you to update your system.
Sure it requires some time of yours, but it’s worth it because the effort you have to put yourself and your system into later if the problem isn’t fixed pre-hand is far more than this little update.
Remember, to check for updates at least once in two weeks for your security app in your system. Keep it updated!
They say common sense though isn’t common, and we still need to use our brain wisely to work out the ways that lead to the invitation of cybercrimes.
Here are a few common mistakes you make that you need to stop doing immediately:
Clicking on some random pop-ups
No matter how intriguing the ads seem, do NOT respond to them by clicking on them. They are only a trap, nothing more.
Don’t download movies from unknown sources
If you want to download free videos, try looking for legit sources before you fall into some serious trouble of getting your computer attacked with random viruses resulting in cybercrimes.
Don’t just open any link sent to you on your email
Curious about what a random, yet interesting email address has sent you? Let your inquisitiveness bury deep within the soils of your heart because this type of nosiness will only lead your computer to demolition. So don’t just click and download a link that looks enthralling to you sent in your email. Again, use common sense and do NOT open the link.
