Ransomware: An Equally Alarming Threat for Middle Eastern Businesses

May 23, 2018Simeon Georgiev

Middle Eastern and North African Users experienced over 6 percent of global ransomware attacks in the last year, according to the report released by a leading international cyber security company. This figure shows that ransomware operators have not restricted their activity to the developed countries of Europe and North America. In addition, it also signifies the fact that cybersecurity companies must also devise ransomware removal measures for all those regions where awareness with the use of the internet is relatively lower.

100 Million Ransomware Threats Were Mitigated in Last Six Months

Trend Micro has also provided numbers on their activity for ransomware removal and prevention. According to their official statement, they have mitigated over 100 million ransomware threats for their clients all over the world. The report also claims that almost 99 percent of all these threats were delivered through email and web traffic.

These numbers give credence to the claims that ransomware activity hasn’t been mellowed down. While the company has prevented millions of ransomware infiltrations, hundreds and thousands of cryptovirological strains would still succeed in infiltrating the users ‘devices. This means ransomware removal activities will remain on top of the list of cybersecurity resolutions.

It is also important to note the ransomware guide of Trend Micro has many facades that can help the organizations and individuals to remain safe from cryptovirological demons.  There are three key points in this ransomware protection regimen.

Assessment: The firm is providing companies with ransomware preparedness assessment. It entails the identification of ransomware-related security vulnerabilities in the digital security practices of organizations and then providing them with solutions to make their networks foolproof against cryptovirological activities.

Tools: Where prevention fails, the organization is providing businesses with ransomware removal tools to disinfect their systems. Professional ransomware removal measures are vital if you don’t want to play into the hand of attackers to recover your encrypted data.

Enhancements: To draw an unbreakable barrier where things couldn’t plunge to the level of ransomware removal activities, the company is reinforcing the layers of organizational security with the help of product enhancements.
